Children Learn What They Live

If you want to make a better world, please educate your children with good values.
It's more than money and toys to make them feel loved.
Use your heart, eyes, and hands to touch their life.
It's more than theories and words to shape them to be men of integrity.
Remember this: your children are your own reflection.

Children Learn What They Live

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those around them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

I've heard this poetry long time ago when i was in junior high, and i recently found it on my friend's note which inspires me to write it here. Still remember and love it, too. This is a very good poetry for all parents-to-be. It is oh-so-true and yet so touching..^^

Cupcakes a.l.a Wilma :')

One fine morning on Saturday, i decided to make something hand-made for this year valentine's gift..esp for my bf, for sure!!! Actually we don't specially celebrate val's day because there's nothing special on that day. For me, birthdays and anniversary are much better than valentine's. But this idea just comes straight in my mind, i just want to make something hand-made for him and fortuitous, it's valentine! I know he likes my-hand-made gift better than buying-stuff gift. So, I chose making cupcakes..since it is today's trend and i haven't tried to make it. Unfortunately, i'm not good yet in terms of recipe, but thank God, my super-best mom has this great recipe. As you know, my mom is very good in culinary world. So i asked her help in doing my project hihihi..

My mom just helped me in making the dough till it was baked on the oven, after that she had to go somewhere..so i had to do this all by myself. Can be said, this is my first time doing it all alone. I have to check several times to make sure the cake is already done. To put it off from the cake tin. To pour the rum into the cake (it's just only on my estimation). To cut out the cupcakes. And the last one to decorate each cupcakes :') interesting!!!

First of all, preheat the oven to 180 C. Back to the dough, beat together the butter and sugar until it's pale. Then add the eggs one at a time, beating in well after each addition, then gradually pour the mixture of flour and cocoa, beat it till the dough comes together. Finally, put the dough into the cake tin and baked it in the oven.

After the cake is done baked, let the tin sits on a cooling rack for 5-10 minutes and then turn them out from the tin, and started to cut out the cakes using the special cut out tools (mine are heart and curly circle).

Break up the chocolate into small pieces and melted it by swirling it around to cover in the hot liquid. Pour the melted chocolate to the top of each cupcakes. You can fill it full, or just fill it abstract, like spider web. You choose!!

Now it's time to decorate each cupcakes....It's up to your creativity and imagination in this part. You can use everything as the decoration as long as it can be eaten. You can find it many in a bakery shop. This time, i don't have time to go to the bakery shop so i just use ordinary snacks: Cha Cha milk chocolate, Yupi candy, and nyam nyam's crunchy. Decor it as you wish^^

and...Voila..!!! Cupcakes a.l.a Wilma..
This one is for my bf.

and this one is for my mom who makes the dough..it's yummy tummy :D thanks, mom^^

Movie Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a movie inspired from a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, a famous American novelist who wrote about classic literature. I have a little knowledge about classic literature since i chose sub-major literature for my final paper at uni. But i've just only read one of his masterpieces, The Great Gatsby.

Back to the movie, it goes straight as one of the best movies in mine. It's about the life of Benjamin Button who is aging backwards. He was born as an old-grandfather look alike and dead in a proportion of a baby. Told from the second point of view, i guess, the movie is told in a flash-back style which is quite interesting. When i watched this, i had a feeling as if i was reading a novel. Maybe it's because the plot goes smoothly and they describe it with details so that it makes the duration of the movie reaches almost 3 hours.

Some people said it is a boring, awful movie, just talking no action. But in my case, i have a different point of view. A movie is not just a story. There's also a meaning behind it. I enjoy every single stories in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and their conversation as well.
This meaningful movie brings me to one of my life's greatest lessons. Life is just about a time. It's full of choices! and the choice is yours..it's all depends on how you create your life by using any given opportunities. You just have to be careful when it's time to choose an option because your life opportunity never comes twice. And you should know how to handle the easiness and difficulties in every choices you choose, because the life opportunity can come both in time of happiness and sadness. You'll never know it!! Don't just stay in your comfort zone. Sometimes you should choose a little more challenging option. You'll never know what's inside the box if you'll never open it. Whatever goals you have in life, don't think you can't reach it! So live your life to the fullest!!...Don't be too afraid to step back once to get 10 more better steps ahead. Once, a Chinese says, "A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step." -Confusion-

"Your life is defined by its opportunities... even the ones you miss." -Benjamin Button-

"For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again." -Benjamin Button-

Goodnight Benjamin. Goodnight Daisy.
