Cupcakes a.l.a Wilma :')

One fine morning on Saturday, i decided to make something hand-made for this year valentine's gift..esp for my bf, for sure!!! Actually we don't specially celebrate val's day because there's nothing special on that day. For me, birthdays and anniversary are much better than valentine's. But this idea just comes straight in my mind, i just want to make something hand-made for him and fortuitous, it's valentine! I know he likes my-hand-made gift better than buying-stuff gift. So, I chose making cupcakes..since it is today's trend and i haven't tried to make it. Unfortunately, i'm not good yet in terms of recipe, but thank God, my super-best mom has this great recipe. As you know, my mom is very good in culinary world. So i asked her help in doing my project hihihi..

My mom just helped me in making the dough till it was baked on the oven, after that she had to go somewhere..so i had to do this all by myself. Can be said, this is my first time doing it all alone. I have to check several times to make sure the cake is already done. To put it off from the cake tin. To pour the rum into the cake (it's just only on my estimation). To cut out the cupcakes. And the last one to decorate each cupcakes :') interesting!!!

First of all, preheat the oven to 180 C. Back to the dough, beat together the butter and sugar until it's pale. Then add the eggs one at a time, beating in well after each addition, then gradually pour the mixture of flour and cocoa, beat it till the dough comes together. Finally, put the dough into the cake tin and baked it in the oven.

After the cake is done baked, let the tin sits on a cooling rack for 5-10 minutes and then turn them out from the tin, and started to cut out the cakes using the special cut out tools (mine are heart and curly circle).

Break up the chocolate into small pieces and melted it by swirling it around to cover in the hot liquid. Pour the melted chocolate to the top of each cupcakes. You can fill it full, or just fill it abstract, like spider web. You choose!!

Now it's time to decorate each cupcakes....It's up to your creativity and imagination in this part. You can use everything as the decoration as long as it can be eaten. You can find it many in a bakery shop. This time, i don't have time to go to the bakery shop so i just use ordinary snacks: Cha Cha milk chocolate, Yupi candy, and nyam nyam's crunchy. Decor it as you wish^^

and...Voila..!!! Cupcakes a.l.a Wilma..
This one is for my bf.

and this one is for my mom who makes the dough..it's yummy tummy :D thanks, mom^^

Movie Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a movie inspired from a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, a famous American novelist who wrote about classic literature. I have a little knowledge about classic literature since i chose sub-major literature for my final paper at uni. But i've just only read one of his masterpieces, The Great Gatsby.

Back to the movie, it goes straight as one of the best movies in mine. It's about the life of Benjamin Button who is aging backwards. He was born as an old-grandfather look alike and dead in a proportion of a baby. Told from the second point of view, i guess, the movie is told in a flash-back style which is quite interesting. When i watched this, i had a feeling as if i was reading a novel. Maybe it's because the plot goes smoothly and they describe it with details so that it makes the duration of the movie reaches almost 3 hours.

Some people said it is a boring, awful movie, just talking no action. But in my case, i have a different point of view. A movie is not just a story. There's also a meaning behind it. I enjoy every single stories in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and their conversation as well.
This meaningful movie brings me to one of my life's greatest lessons. Life is just about a time. It's full of choices! and the choice is yours..it's all depends on how you create your life by using any given opportunities. You just have to be careful when it's time to choose an option because your life opportunity never comes twice. And you should know how to handle the easiness and difficulties in every choices you choose, because the life opportunity can come both in time of happiness and sadness. You'll never know it!! Don't just stay in your comfort zone. Sometimes you should choose a little more challenging option. You'll never know what's inside the box if you'll never open it. Whatever goals you have in life, don't think you can't reach it! So live your life to the fullest!!...Don't be too afraid to step back once to get 10 more better steps ahead. Once, a Chinese says, "A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step." -Confusion-

"Your life is defined by its opportunities... even the ones you miss." -Benjamin Button-

"For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again." -Benjamin Button-

Goodnight Benjamin. Goodnight Daisy.

En Dining

En Japanese Dining Bar is now open at Crystal Lagoon, Senayan City, LG floor.
i haven't tried this one before at EX, guess why?? yes..bcos the place is so classy-expensive looks like and it relates to the 'wallet thing' hahahha. Because of the new opening restaurant, they give 50% promo discount ended last week...yippieee...so last weekend me & bf decided to have our dinner there...it's a rare opportunity!!

Photos taken from lobby stairs & EN's Main entrance
The place is located at the special design of Senci, the circle-glass building at the main lobby, the best spot in Senayan City, i guess. At first, I think they build that additional building for just an art reason hehehe, but actually they don't. En's main entrance is from Crystal Lagoon, LG floor. It has two-floor. 1st floor is just like ordinary Japanese restaurant, tables, vip room, and tatami, while the 2nd floor is the Japanese bar. The place is comfy but the chair is not quite comfy enough (some of them are backless chairs). My seat is rather private than public. They are quite large space between one another, so it's a perfect seat for me! no crowded noisy people around us hehehe

The service is excellent. The waiter is easily to find and they are always ready to serve their best to the customer. One waiter poured the sauce to my bowl when he brought our sushi order, it was my 1st experience like tat, i duno if other fancy restaurant served like that hehehe...oh, and they always re-fill my ocha before i asked them to..!! ha.ha.

For the food, this time we start with our fav Jap appetizer, Chawanmusi. It is steamed egg custard with mixed of chicken, shrimp, mushroom, and don't know exactly the others. It is YUMMYYYY...this one comes to my number 1 list, beat one in Sumire.
Chawanmusi (22k)

I continue with the sushi, since i'm not a fan of raw food, i ordered California Rolls and Tiger Rolls..both of them are TASTYYYYY....it's so fresh..the rice, and all the topping is really fresh and crispy when u bite 'em...i like both!! This is like in Rakuzen's, maybe better...

California Rolls (56k) Tiger Rolls (78k)

I also wana try the ordinary Jap food, Chicken Katsu, again...it's DELICIOUS.. even if it's just ordinary chicken katsu but they cook it in their own way. crispy yet tasty!!!!!!!! plus the LIP-SMACKING sauce, it's just like liquor-sauce and there's sesame on the top. i'm not good at explaining the ingredients tho hahahha..I'm starving at that time so i also ordered this expensive Gohan (it costs 12k) in completing my Chicken Katsu.Katsu Chicken (58k)

My bf's choice for the main course is Crab Chahan. It is Japanese fried rice covered with crab soup and soft shell crab on top. I guess it is 'kepiting soka'. It is DAMN GOOD....and quite big portion..!!Crab Chahan (85k)

We chose macha ice cream for dessert. This green tea ice cream is average, not as special as the food i ordered. It's better Cream&Fudge's n Haagen Daaz's.
Macha Ice Cream (18k)

We were very very full..these sluruppp yummy food are really worth! aside from the price, it's a bit overprice, but hey..it's 50% disc hahahaaa...We're fully satisfied when paying off the bill..
En Dining is surely one of the best Japanese restaurants in Jakarta.

High school reunion 2009

After 4 and a half years we graduated from SMUK-4, two of our friends (we call them, the EOs: BJ n AHA) suddenly invited me via FB to join the small reunion. Wow...i was so excited yet had a little doubt of it..!!! it will be our 1st reunion...meeting my old high school friends...will it be fun? or will it be boring? cos i almost lost contact with them all. but i always like hanging out n gathering with friends, well, no further explanation, i just love it!! so i decided to come tat Sunday evening at Glass House, Pluit.

1st high school habit: they were late for almost 1 hour!!! even the EOs still not there hahaha.
The invitation is at 6.30 p.m. when i arrived there at 6.35 p.m, there are only 2 persons, my friend, n his gf. Actually for me it's out of my mind, ur gf/bf join the school reunion..come on...it's reunion, the time u re-meeting and sharing ur story with ur old school friends (no offense to those who brought their partners yesterday..). i also came with my bf, in my case, we knew each other in high school, started our relationship on the 1st grade and we're still be together, so this is also our reunion, our friends, from the same batch, the same high school.. =)

2nd high school habit: gossipping and narcissism!!!
As we met each other, we started talking, laughing, and taking pictures...a lot!!! it's so much fun hahahha :D we're kind of sharing stories n etc..Reunion is also the best time to meet up with the x-ers :P yeps, n this topic can be caused a hot gossippp...hihi some people caught in an action with their x, well, they're just having a lil chit chat, but still...interesting and potentially to become a hot gossip...!!

Eniweiii, how about high school love story?? As i know, in our batch, there are 3 couples having a relationship since high school. but unfortunately, 1 couple ended their relationship about a month ago, so there's only 2 couples left. and I'm the one of them :) yeah..no one ever know what will happen next, it's God business..!! so we'll see later...
3 of our female friends have just got married, and 1 friend has already had a daughter..but none of them came to the reunion..too bad!

Last but not least, we've grown mature and we're adults! Some people change, some are still the same (physically n personality sides). Yeah...people change...i agree with tat statement! Some are totally changed and some are not, just a little changed hahaha complicated though! and 80% of us have already graduated but only 60% got a job already hehehe..Due to the global crisis, it's not the best time for a job seeker! so good luck everyone..

in conclusion, my uneasiness before is wrong, totally wrong!!! I had so much fun meeting up with them all..It's not 'garing' but go with the flow hahaha yeah..i know it's one of my talents, i can talk n adapt easily to different people, different environment, and i always have a topic to be talked. Again, i love to smile..it's the best way to melt down the atmosphere :)

see ya friends..
